Forest therapy is the session guests are most sceptical about beforehand, and the one they ask to repeat.
It is a difficult session to sell. You walk a short distance into the trees, and then you stay there, mostly sitting, for an hour and a half.
What guests report afterwards is almost always about attention rather than relaxation. Somewhere around the forty-minute mark, things that were background become foreground — sound, movement, temperature changes on the skin.
Nobody arrives at the forest session wanting it. Very few leave indifferent to it.
We schedule it early in most stays, because it tends to change how guests use the rest of their free time here.
